First, I would like to say thank you if you have been following this blog series, and an additional thank you if you have shared it. This is a project that is a lot larger undertaking than I imagined, but it is one that is so strong on my heart to pursue. It is also opening the eyes of my understanding and is making me dig deeper in the Word on this specific topic. The topic of who He is.
When I first started writing, I never imagined the places this study would lead me. I didn’t anticipate hungering after the Hebraic roots and meanings of the scriptures. I didn’t expect to discover Messianic Rabbis and teachers that would make the Word explode with a richness I never dreamt possible. I never expected to strive to be able to pronounce and understand Hebrew. This project has opened a door for me that I didn’t just walk through, I ended up running through it. My hope is that what little taste that I am able to convey to you through writing gives you a desire to seek it for yourself as well. To taste and see that the Lord is good and that He is so vibrant and full of life, your spiritual taste buds will dance for joy.
With the Song of Solomon, verse one of the song is complete, and so, for a short time, I am going to take a break and read back over what I have written and reflect on it and pray for the Lord to continue to show me more deeply who He is in these chapters. I am also going to be praying and seeking His face about verse two, the prophets. Everything that I put out, my longing is for it to be what He wants me to say, and that can only come through prayer and study, then we will see who He is in verse two. The prophets contain some of my favorite passages of scripture, and there is so much meat to them, I can not wait to get started. But for now, let’s recap who we have learned He is.
In Genesis He’s the breath of life,
in Exodus the Passover Lamb
in Leviticus, He’s our High Priest.
Numbers, the fire by night,
Deuteronomy, He’s Moses voice
In Joshua He is salvation’s choice.
Judges, Law Giver,
In Ruth the kinsman redeemer,
First and Second Samuel, our trusted prophet.
In Kings and Chronicles He’s sovereign,
Ezra, true and faithful scribe,
Nehemiah He’s the rebuilder of broken walls and lives.
In Esther He is Mordecai’s courage,
in Job the timeless redeemer,
In the Psalms He is our morning song.
In Proverbs, wisdom’s cry
Ecclesiastes the time and season,
In the Song of Solomon, He is the lover’s dream.
I hope to see you as we continue on with verse two. I know I’m looking forward to continuing the journey of who He is.
